Narrative Portraiture
This body of work explores portraiture as a space for introspection, where the visible world intersects with the internal one. The images draw from themes of inner conflict, spirituality, memory, and the ambiguity of dreams. They are not attempts to document reality as it appears, but to approach something less tangible: the emotional and psychological states that exist beneath the surface.
My Process:
I do not use generative AI tools in my image‑making process. While I appreciate the creative possibilities that AI tools provide, I get asked this question a lot, and I believe it is important for people to understand how my art is created, and that the underlying concepts are my own.
The images presented in this gallery are the result of a deliberate and considered process, in which post‑production techniques are employed to shape a specific narrative and emotional atmosphere. While many photographs are thoughtfully altered through traditional photographic and post‑processing techniques to guide emotional tone and interpretation, every image originates from a real moment, captured through the camera.
Each photograph is the result of deliberate seeing, patient refinement, and hands‑on craftsmanship; the slow, intentional process of making images and an appreciation for the labour of creating art.
